Should Christians celebrate Christmas? Regardless of explanations which may be put forward, be it pagan, traditional, or evangelistic, Christmas is based in deception. Santa Claus is made up and children look to a fake person for gifts, miracles, and wishes. (Doesn't Jesus supply our every need?) Should we be choosing our own day to celebrate the birth of Jesus? If Jesus wanted us to celebrate His birth, there would be mention of the exact day in the Bible, but as we all know, there isn’t. Numerous biblical scholars confirm that Jesus' "Birthday" was around September/October - this website puts forward some valid points - so is it the right witness to ignore the evidence given in the Bible and replace it with a day we wish to celebrate on? (Like changing the Sabbath to Sunday) Sorry to be a party pooper, but I think we Christians should be accurate in what we believe. The Bible never lies, so why should we? Is it important what day we celebrate on? If we fail to see the error of Christmas today, what day might we turn a blind eye about tomorrow?
Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. The bible does not attach any importance on Jesus' birthday. Remember Jesus was already in existence before He was born! The only day of importance the bible points out so clearly is the Sabbath and yet the majority of ‘Christians’ have done away with that! |

What images spring to mind when the word Christmas is mentioned?
Is our precious Saviour's name being used as an excuse to indulge our sinful natures and yet still pretend to be 'Christians'? TRUE CHRISTIANS MUST STAND FIRM ON THE TEACHINGS OF THE BIBLE We must stand firm in the word of God. As Christians our belief must be centred on none other than the BIBLE. We should take heed to the word of God lest we would be deceived. It is sad that we are trying so hard to conform to the world to the extent that we will call Christmas holy.
